Why this ban
In the past, several boats in our harbour were damaged, and one of our berth holders had to go to hospital to have a fishing hook removed from her hand. In consultation with the angling club De Baars, it was therefore decided, regrettably, to ban fishing with a casting rod throughout the harbour.
The rule and the fine
Fishing with a casting rod is not permitted anywhere in the harbour: not from the quay, not from the jetty and not from a boat. Please note: the fine, if you fish with a casting rod anyway, is € 95.00.
Fishing outside the harbour
Outside the harbour you are very welcome with a VISpas (Dutch national fishing permit). Required documents: VISpas.
